On Saturday, November 13, 2021 Young birders explored one of the best-known places for birding in the state: Mt. Auburn Cemetery! We traveled along not-so-spooky paved trails scanning the giant trees overhead, crossing our fingers we’d see an owl. Instead, the cutest Brown Creeper called our attention to its foraging behavior, and we interrupted a Cooper’s Hawk’s Saturday morning brunch. We also saw a very vocal Carolina Wren hopping across gravestones. Flocks of American Robins flew over us all day and were spotted around every corner.

Altogether, we saw 22 different species of birds (eBird Checklist here). We hope you can join us on one of our upcoming events!
