February 2025: Birding Canton's Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary

Join Mass Young Birders at Mass Audubon's MABA & Wildlife Sanctuary in Canton, MA for an evening of birding the many different habitats this space has to offer!

The Wildlife Sanctuary is a known nesting spot for breeding Great Horned and Barred Owls in the area. It has a sprawling meadow, access to woodlands, and a trail that follows a brook through the property. Not to mention, the number of winter residents who take advantage of these unique habitats.

WHAT TO BRING:

• Layers

• Water

• Winter Weather Apparel - it might get cold!

• Comfortable Walking Shoes

• Binoculars (we have loaner binoculars for participants to use during the program)

ACCESSIBILITY: This event is free. We will primarily be walking on the Main Loop (see map below), but may veer off on some of the path offshoots. The paths are mown grass and packed pine needles with some gradual inclines. There is free parking at the Audubon Sanctuary.
