Visit to the Trevor-Lloyd Evans Banding Lab

Updated: Aug 17, 2023

Have you ever seen a bird up close? Do you want to learn how scientists keep track of

individual birds? Join the Mass Young Birders Club on Monday, August 28th for a bird banding demonstration at Manomet Bird Observatory!

Banded Yellow Warbler sits on a branch outside the banding lab!

At Manomet, scientists put bands on birds to study bird

behavior, and the health of bird populations around the world. To band the birds, scientists must catch them first! We will visit the Manomet banding lab and get an up-close look at the birds as they are being banded -- plus, we'll get to release them back to their natural habitat.

If time allows, we will finish the morning with a walk to our bird blind and do some birding around our property! We can't wait to see you there!

As always, this event is free, but registration is required.

If you are not an MYBC Club Member, you can sign-up here: MYBC Sign-up Forms
