HELP US SOW SOME SEEDS SO THEY ARE READY FOR SPRING!

Join Mass Young Birders at Manomet Conservation Sciences on Saturday, January 11 at 9:00am for a morning of sowing winter seeds so they will be ready to plant outdoors in the spring. We will also, of course, take time to observe Manomet's bird feeders and will have some information on Cornell's Project Feeder Watch to share with participants.

Many of our native plant species need to be exposed to the harsh winter weather in order to be ready to start growing in the spring. We will explore some of our native plants and how they benefit local bird populations. We will then sow seeds that have been collected from the Manomet HQ property in different containers. Participants are welcome to take their seeds home or leave them at Manomet to be planted in the spring! Check out this video on seed sowing for more information.
